The test report was conducted by the company Inside Climate in Germany. Sporthäst heat-regulating boot was tested against a control product (leg protection boot from another company), using temperature sensors over a duration of 1h (riding with walk, trot and gallop).
° The outcome clearly shows a cooler and less humid condition within the Sporthäst protector.
° The measured temperature is up to 5°C lower as opposed to the control product, especially in faster moving situations.
° The measured relative humidity is up to 15% lower which is a tremendous benefit because the effectiveness of further evaporation is considerably higher.
° In terms of perceived temperature the outcome even suggests a benefit of over 15-20° C of lower heat perception.

HOW DOES IT WORK
Via a heat source, the horse legs heat is transferred to the Outlast® thermo-material. This features applied or incorporated microencapsulated wax, based on rapeseed oil, which is liquefied under the influence of heat.
The wax is safely enclosed in microcapsules. According to a physical law, the temperature does not increase any further during the change of physical state from solid to liquid. Figuratively speaking, the thermal energy can be used to overcome the physical state of the wax. And this is where the Outlast® effect becomes palpable: The body heat no longer heats up the microclimate, but rather makes the natural wax melt. The Outlast® thermo-material thus acts as a heat buffer, significantly reducing the user’s heat peaks. This leads to considerably improved comfort and prevents sweat formation by up to 48%.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Recent studies conducted by veterinarians and researchers has revealed that horses in active motion can experience dangerously high temperatures of up to 45°C.
This temperature can have a critical impact on the cells in horses' tendons and result in severe injuries. Traditional bandages and leg wraps, often made of warm, non-breathable materials, are pointed out as possible reason for this issue.
